Somewhere you got the idea that grief should be over by now. That there is a timeline, and you are behind it. That the continuing weight of loss means something is wrong with you.
Grief does not move in a line. It does not resolve on schedule. It does not mean you are weak or stuck or failing to cope. It means you loved something.
The pressure to be over it, to have processed it, moved on, reached acceptance, is a social pressure, not a psychological one. There is no correct duration for grief. There is only the duration it takes.
What grief needs is not acceleration. It needs room. Room to surface when it surfaces, without being judged or rushed or medicated into silence.
You are not behind. You are grieving. These are not the same thing.
